People do want new art. Just look at the most torrented works of art -- far more people download Game of Thrones than I Love Lucy. One major reason is that societies change and today's audiences are different from audiences of 30 years ago. The reason people don't want to pay for art is not that they assign a value of zero to it; it's that they have figured out a way to get it without paying the artist. |
