Exactly. In fact, a similar thing happened to Kiruna some years ago, when the iron price stayed low for some years. The mine slowed production, and house prices and rent prices followed accordingly. It was a hard time for the residents here. The iron price recently dropped, but for many years it's been high, and it is currently quite hard to find somewhere to live, especially because of the price controls on rent. |
