> Why wait 5-15 years after SpaceX gets there? This isn't the 70s where there was political pressure to do what-ever it takes lest the damn Ruskies beat you to it and make you look weak. It is reassuring that they are planning for what they can achieve safely rather than doing what-ever is needed to get there first (assuming that is in fact what they are doing, of course). And maybe SpaceX won't get there as fast as they hope - their plans do seem rather ambitious. |
