Aside from waste storage there's also the cost of dismantling old reactors. The Wikipedia article on nuclear decommissioning makes for some depressing reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_decommissioning The tl;dr being "with a few notable exceptions, it's just too damn expensive so we just ignore the problem" |
