I think IT managers would prefer it if they didn't have to spend time and money re-training their sysadmins or hiring/firing them to ensure their staff has the skills to use the $NEW_SHINY from $CORPORATE_VENDOR. Skill transference is a boon for customers (see also: "Stop breaking the UI!").
