It actually seems to me that they may have copied the idea from that other hotel, the wording is very similar:

From the CNN article:

"Please know that despite the fact that wedding couples love Hudson and our Inn, your friends and families may not,"

I'm glad someone found this; I was really confused because I recognised the phrasing, and thought "I've read this story... but it was about wedding guests...?"
