It's Intel's money; they've been rumored to be doing whole BOM subsidization (so the x86 is almost zero, and the non-Intel components are subsidized too). This is how INTC booked a $1B loss on $1M revenue for mobile in the most recent quarter. Cynically I wonder if they just merged mobile with the revenue positive CPU business to better bury the bad news every quarter. |
