Coincidentally, I left the bay area for Portland -- just got here 4 days ago. The past 20 years, I lived in Campbell, San Jose and Oakland. After visiting Portland for a week of vacation, I signed a lease on a loft up north. Not sure if I've taken in enough of the new city to write an in-depth comparison.
