Stop and think what is needed for a human army to be effective. You need everything from nuclear physicists to cooks to keep things running. Each of those people was first and foremost the results of 4 billion years of evolution which solved the hard problems of visual object detection and body calibration. Yet for each of the hundreds of thousands of such people you still needed parents to keep them from killing themselves between the age of 2-10 as a full time job and then 300 years worth of culture to get them to the point where they were useful for anything at all.

There is a world of difference between being able to build an AI that can do one thing, and an AI that can do everything a person can.
