Here is some interesting discussion about 0 A.D. in the same context by one developer: http://www.reddit.com/r/programming/comments/2kdfyq/an_open_...
0 A.D is great, on the other hand, the balance and the tactical variety on the AoE series is hard to match.
I don't know, I always found AoE2 to be broken. I would slowly build a tower in my enemies base.
The old AI wasn't particularly good. Playing versus modern AIs, or actual people, is an entirely different experience!
It's not broken just because your opponents are bad.
Tower? heck take a group of villagers with your army. Build castles in enemy territory as you capture it! (or maybe bombard towers) That doesn't mean the game is broken though.
Teutonic town centre rush was ridiculous.

I miss that game.

I also always felt it was broken in many ways. But that wasn't actually a bad thing. In some regards it was fun because of that.
Age of Mythology was my favorite among the whole series.
Picked up Age of Mythology: Extended Edition during the Steam Summer Sale. My friends and I used to play a ton against each other over LAN when we were kids. Now we're all in different states, but multiplayer works really well so that's not a problem!
0 A.D. is great; I hope my grandchildren will play at beta lol
No joke just release the thing!
0ad kinda lags in later rounds. It utilize only one CPU. I heard on the forum it's due to Engine's design in early development times.
