You could also just disable spotlight:

sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist

and use [Alfred](http://www.alfredapp.com/).

Alfred uses Spotlight's index though, so disabling Spotlight will probably break Alfred.
