I couldn't agree more with this article. I pursued Computer Science in the hope of being recognized for the ability to create something NOT in the ability to regurgitate the most arcane algorithm in 45 minutes. Most interviewers KNOW they would NEVER like NEVER use it in production. Yet, I'm not happy at my current job. What option do I have but to remember the 5th variant of the problem I saw in Cracking the coding interview? None. Back to chugging. </rant> EDIT: Thank you for writing this article!
