It's hard to believe that this article would be on the front page if it didn't contain a reference to the Go programming language in the title. There is no technical meat about how to avoid complexity with Go in this article. It's a rehash of all the same things that have been circulating around the internet about Go recently. Yes, the standard library is great. Yes, it's nice your programs compile to binaries. But what about the criticisms of the language that are always left unanswered? I like Go a lot as a language for writing networking software. But if Go becomes the next mass adopted language for writing business applications, that will be a huge mistake for our industry. |
