Blog posts are inherently short-form writing, optimized for getting to the top of Reddit. You have to make bold claims to attract readers, and avoid detailed arguments so they don't fall asleep. If you want your writing to have value beyond the popularity game, and contribute to the state of the art somehow, I think careful reasoning is indispensable for that.
