Of cause people don't react to the statistics that proclaim that they won't win, because someone won the last time. It doesn't matter that the chances are 1 to 175 million, because someone did win, that's all that counts. The only guaranteed result is not to play, that will ensure that you do not win 100% of the time. |

Not quite true; every time you don't play you win $1. If you don't play often enough, that can really add up.
