The "flag" example could be easily replaced with named parameters. Seems a bit unnecisary to add a new type for that purpose, unless I'm missing something.

You are not missing anything: named parameters would have been a much nicer choice, but I think they don't want to make the language more complex.

Currently 'the plate is full': D is full of features and many of them are not finished/polished so I doubt that they will add such kind of feature in the near future..
