It's a huge pet peeve of mine when people use EST when we're in daylight savings time. This, presumably, should be 12:23 EDT. Also, it's not back up.

The existence of daily savings time - and time zones - is a huge pet peeve for me.

Sure, me too. However, using the incorrect abbreviation (and thereby referencing incorrect timestamps) is certainly not going to have any positive effects on the situation.
