Well, we have autonomous drones becoming a mainstream thing (written about by TV personalities), we have anonymous distributed data transfer and even value transfer (!) networks. The government is working hard to eliminate digital privacy. Large IP holders are lobbying the government to regulate data ownership. Massive networks of anonymous users coordinate through message boards and social networks to perform human action on a massive scale. Individuals flee their home countries and become icons in international politics because they are, effectively, data smugglers. There are entire organizations dedicated to disseminating data that government interests are fighting to keep secret. Wearable electronics are coming of age. Electronic surveillance is ubiquitous. Police militarization is increasing significantly. Internet-based physible replication technologies (like 3D printers) are coming of age.
