It was a very basic thing that caused me to switch: Being able to use Cmd-1, Cmd-2, Cmd-3, etc to switch tabs (Terminal.app only does this for windows, not tabs).

Tab switching with ⌘1-9 is possible in Terminal.app with SIMBL and a plug-in: https://github.com/tauon/terminaltabswitching

I don't recall doing anything special, but on Mac OS X 10.8.5, I use CMD-SHIFT-Arrow (left or right arrow) to move from tab to tab.
