Would having an old version installed make a difference? I renamed my current install to "mathematica backup.app" then installed mms 10. It feels like some part of mms has failed without adequately reporting it. Mac OSX 10.9.4 uname -a <~/Library/Mathematica/Licensing nyx[33]
