I don't think it's over at all. Look at 'Target' - when you check out notice the employees have like V and G's all on their screen like GGGVGG. That shows how well their doing. G means they did good. V (or R I don't remember) means that they were too slow. The goal is to get all Gs. Call it gamification if you want. I think its not a 'new thing' anymore, its becoming to the point where it's commonplace and not really mentionable. Acceptance Apathy or whatever you want to call it. *edit: Here's a link.
