That you never went back to reclarify what had been said between all three parties is bad form on your behalf. Particularly when the topic is about the meanings of words and phrases, it behooves you to go back and ensure you're clear on the matter. In any case, for all you like to say that you haven't been rude here, you've been outstandingly rude. You haven't used profanity, but you write fluently enough to be fully aware that it doesn't require profanity to be rude.
