With the traction of iOS Ecosystem. I think Apple could have created its own API, or even just reuse Mantle or use it as a base for a new API. This certainly wasn't possible when Mac was the minority. But now even if Apple gets only 10% of the Phone market there is still a huge userbase. No longer bounded by OpenGL. |
