If Wikipedia becomes/is the source. How do you get around the 3rd party primary source requirement?

The model does presume that primary and secondary sources will continue to be created.

These days, what actually happens is that people create third-party sources specifically to get things into Wikipedia. sigh.

Because of its format, Wikipedia is not a good original research repository.

Creating a source just to cite it in Wikipedia is a good thing, not a bad one, I think they are quite right on having that rule.

Sometimes it's good, more usually it's companies getting PR stories placed in news outlets as evidence they warrant an article.

(This, by the way, is something that can sometimes not work out so well.)

If only we had non-profit organizations getting fact-checking stories placed in news outlets as evidence.
wikipedia is an indexing mechanism for external sources, not a primary source
