Co-opted is the correct word. I like the idea of story points as a tool for communicating with each other about rough estimates. I don't like story points as a source of data for management to put into spreadsheets and use in dubious "velocity calculations". I especially don't like the results of those calculations being used to measure my individual productivity and set expectations about my future work rate. The language of agile has been co-opted to suit the needs of mediocre managers. |
