The main text says "Drag & drop anything anywhere," so naturally I selected some text on the site and tried to drag it around. Nothing happened.

Agree. Why you guys don't just embed it as expandable sidebar on your website to get real taste how Dragdis works?
I bet they don't want to scare away those using a browser that requires a plugin for Dragdis to work.
Maybe. But that could evolve in plugin for websites (think Disqus) which can help them grow.
I did the same thing.

If you're going to the site with no prior knowledge of what it is and follow the instructions, it seems broken.

We were thinking about it, but we figured it will confuse users as they will think that you can sort of drag&drop things only on Dragdis. I know not the most intelligent thought to have, but it's really not clear for average user that you need to visit some other website and drag there. And this would only confuse them even more.

Thank you for your comments! http://dragd.is/iY2XH

How about something like

"Drag & drop anything anywhere with Dragdis", makes it more obvious it's a product not just something on that page
