The real issue with hyperfocus is not so much being distracted out of it as not being able to target it. Sure, you can sometimes focus on something for 6 hours, but if it is the wrong thing, then you can blow through deadlines like nobodies business. When I started on ADHD medications, the biggest thing I noticed was that I would worry more, and then actually adjust my focus to those problems. |
