IMO It didn't happen because Hypercard does not provide a paradigm shift in application only in interpretation. It's the same discussion you see around why 3D interfaces aren't more popular. The second we need to manipulate more real world objects (like in robotics for instance) in real time, the more visual kind of programming languages will gain more popularity as they will provide faster access to controlling the already optimized algorithms. |
