As usual Chris does a good job of explaining in simple terms how the markets actually work. The one thing I would have liked to see in this article is a discussion of the pro's and con's of paying for liquidity vs execution risk. From my perspective it is almost always better to have sooner execution with a liquidity tax than an order floating in the market but I'm not sure how to quantify that as a retail stock purchaser. |
