I understand how textbooks can be expensive. It's simple supply and demand. Fewer people buy textbooks than other types of books, so they cost more. That's where my empathy ends. It seems to me that there's a huge problem with unethical sales practices and underhanded tricks to reduce the used textbook market. This article's title should have been about the shady textbook companies rather than simply the prices of new books. |
