As a counterpoint, I strongly feel that your pricing is just fine (maybe even a bit low!). You just need to make it clear that it's a one-time payment (assuming it is--if you want to integrate recurring revenue for some aspects, you'll need to re-jig things a bit).
People selling shit online are making (or expecting/hoping to make) thousands of dollars on the low end. The non-technical ones (ie. not the majority of people on this forum, which is why price perceptions are skewed here IMO) will gladly pay a developer $7-800 dollars to put it all together the way you have done here. You're making it easier for everyone by offering a plug-in that does the work, and in light of that I think your pricing is very reasonable.
That's a really flattering comment! Dan told me he is blushing, hahaha... We're taking your feedback and we're going to do whatever we can to make things better in the messaging. We'll get some clear communication about this being a one-time payment up there ASAP.
First - I don't know if it is a one-time fee or a monthly or yearly (it's not clear)?
Second - because I can't frame it against anything, it's hard for me to justify the price. You say "Even though this package is small, it will still save you hundreds of $$$ and dozens of hours trying to figure out how to get paid on your WordPress site" What specific money am I saving? Care to elaborate on this more?
Third - the copy in the pricing is WAY too wordy. I need bullet points and I need an easy way to compare the 3. Check this blog out for some suggestions for improvements: http://blog.priceintelligently.com/
I don't actually know. I guess I'm not your target audience.
I'm using Gumroad, Mailchimp and Wordpress pretty often, and (for me) it's not really problematic or time consuming. That's why your solution is not worth so much to me. But that's just me... once more, best wishes with the project ;)
Thanks for responding! Our target audience is folks who don't have the technical know-how to get their Gumroad product overlays into their Wordpress themes, and they need a quick, convenient solution to stitch together Gumroad, their Wordpress website, and their email service (Mailchimp, GetResponse, Aweber, and soon others like InfusionSoft). It handles everything in a single motion. Thank you again for the well wishes!!
