Surprised nobody's mentioned SliTeX either here or on G+. Source is plain ASCII. Output is PDF. Interpreter is TeX. All three are very, very robust for backward compatibility. That Microsoft is being promoted for backwards (and forwards) compatibility strikes me as ... comical. |
