it was some years ago [actually, a lot of years ago now..], but when i got interviewed for an SRE google interview i certainly wasn't given any indicator of what to prepare for ;-) I also think many of the recruitment questions were above the skills of the employees asking the questions. they just had a checklist and basic understanding. Now i would probably do smth similar if i was google and a got a lot of applicants, but it felt weird. I think what was the weirdest tho, was how they made me feel like the SRE job was very stressing and more of a throw away tool used so that, luckily, i could switch to another position after 13month (1 cycle). That sealed the deal the wrong way for me. I just told the guy we should stop the process now so that nobody wastes their time and went home. |
