I've been on a few interviews with the "not-a-test" lunch, and it always made me grateful to be in this industry. I talk to people applying for law jobs, where it seems that lunches and dinners during the process are very much a test. Associates fill out scorecards for candidates later, on how good a conversationalist the candidate was! On a one to five scoring system, across multiple categories! From a certain point of view it makes sense - how are they going to schmooze with clients if they can't schmooze with you, but... shudder |
