Ask HN: Why are engineers, and not PMs, the most in demand in the tech industry?

I work for a big co, and we find it very hard to hire <i>good</i> product managers. They are also often the bottleneck in the organization. For e.g.: we have 5 product managers for over 40-50 engineers.
