The most common buttons are already on the steering wheel, not the touch screen, so I really see limited functions that this can manage. The big problem I see is that there is a lot of nuance to using this, and it will take a while to get used to. Once you're used to it I think it could work, but learning how to use the controls is a big deal. For the most part I can control the stereo or temperature in any car that I may happen drive, and so can most people without really much of a learning curve. Setting the clock or mucking with a GPS might be a bit tougher, but the basics are all there. The most likely time that you'll be learning how to do this kind of stuff are while driving, so it should be as obvious as possible, with as little need to focus on it while figuring out the controls. |
