Learning a bit of static typed language will definitely benefit you. I would start with Rust and then switch to M# when it gets released (MS has a strong track record of delivering brilliant languages - C#, F#):

Thanks I've never heard of M# before. But personally I'm linux-only so probably a deal breaker.
