People will recommend "testing" to you but I would advise against it... My path was: stable->testing->stable, because while on testing random stuff would break (laptop wouldn't sleep when I shut the lid, UI glitches, etc.). Plus, on testing I had to frequently update packages I didn't care about updating.
I use stable now and when I need a recent package I now instead: compile from source/find backports/use a vm/vagrant It's the price I pay for a stable system. Vagrant for my dev environments makes "stable" a much easier choice. |
