I don't see why you assume it is anti-Darwinists. I suspect a sizable fraction of that 16% are other anti-scientific types. There are the "science gave us nukes and pollution" environmentalists, the medical anti-science types (vaccines -> autism, acupuncture, homeopathy, naturopathy), and some even weirder types.
