Overstock isn't taking a risk here: they are getting the same exact USD they got before.

They're probably getting more USD than they got before, because the merchant fees are lower.

Coinbase charges 1%. At overstock's volume they are probably getting a similar deal on CCs, although definitely not quite 1%.
