Do you consider advertising to be work? As in, people who work for Pepsi or Coke, convincing consumers to purchase their brand of sugary water over their competitors'. Is that producing wealth? Is society as a whole enjoying a higher level of wealth as a result of their work? Or would our collective wealth (more broadly defined) be higher if those same people were creating works of art with their skills? |
