How much has Facebook's open-source contributions to PHP (say, the HHVM) helped the development and adoption of the language?

Not sure how many every day PHP deployments are using HipHop. Probably nice option to have when you get to a certain point.

But Memcached, APC, and wrappers for Redis probably have done the language much more of a service in ways...
