There are two kinds of HN submissions: URLs, and text submissions. What I called a "direct link" is a URL submission. An "indirect link" would be a text submission with an embedded URL, but these turn out to be specifically disallowed by the HN submission guidelines. (I didn't know that when I wrote the submission referred to in the upstream comment.) |
