> never put postfix's spool and dovecot's storage on the same physical device and I/O controller. /var/log must live on the separate device too. This probably depends on the mail volume, no? I host all mail related services for myself and some family on a $9/month VPS (1 VCPU, 512 MB RAM, and pedestrian I/O capabilities) without any issues. My mail volume is typically under 20K messages/day. |
