No mention of equity/profit sharing. It's not about pay-check it's about feeling how your efforts improve business you are part of. My recommendation: motivate your developers the way you would motivate your CEO.
Equity/profit sharing could easily be a 6th point in the article. In Europe, that's a lot less common than it is in the States though but you make a very valid point anyway.

On the other hand, isn't a CEO mostly driven by cash/profits only? For me personally, I would trade in cash for more flexibility and freedom at any time.
