Good advice for today, but the Haskell Platform got started in 2008-2009. This book is from 2004.

The book in the link is almost 10 years old. Perhaps you could mention what you think is a better starting point rather than Hugs?

It's the Haskell Platform (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haskell_Platform) -> GHC(i).
