The only reason I'd wear a watch is to have something to look at impatiently. Smartwatches are about to ruin this. When you look at your smartphone impatiently, you could be looking at anything -- because it can do almost anything. Watches have until now been about one thing: timekeeping. And looking at your watch is (was?) a recognizable social cue. |
