This is a fascinating tool you've put together. One can look at all sorts of interesting contrasts and/or patterns from it. One that I found interesting is that Washington and Florida have among the lowest rates for the flu, on complete opposite corners of the map and with what most would say are very different climates. I was also surprised that the flu kills more per 100,000 than alcohol, firearms, or vehicles. It doesn't seem to get the press that those others do. |
