You should lawyer up as others advise, but I must be missing something because the problems you listed are definitely not the client's problems. For example, it isn't their problem you didn't filter candidates well enough, etc. I would lawyer up, but also work on killing them with kindness. Make it right. Gary-Vaynerchuk the heck out of them.
