Does this mean AA is actually applied in games? Not quite sure what to make of it.

PowerVR TBDR architecture is great at handling MSAA. I think quite a lot of games will be able to use it (as it was with 4x) http://gdcvault.com/play/1015331/Bringing-AAA-Graphics-to-Mo... (~page 28)
